It's early in their time at UA (possibly the day they pick class reps, it's Pres Yaomomo + VP!Iida) and Kirishima has made it his mission to befriend the angry dandelion known as Bakugou.

And the best way to do that is to get him to eat lunch with him and their other classmates!

Kiri: "Hey man, where do you go to eat lunch?"

Baku: "Does it matter shitty hair? Not with you idiots obvs" he scrolls through his phone.

Kiri: "Come on! It will be fun, get to know your classmates a bit!"

Baku types @ his phone grumbling. It sings a few time and he frowns before sighing. "Fine, fine, I'll sit with you today. Is that enough to keep you from harassing me?"

Kiri grins, "Yosh! You need to buy lunch?"

"Nah, I got food."

"Even better, we can go down to the lunch room together!"

Their break ends and they go back to learning. Later the class go to the lunchroom, splitting up into their friend groups. BKG ends up w/ Sero, Kiri, Mina, Kami, Inasa, Jirou, and Hagakure. Some of them head into the lunch line, BKG and Inasa and Kiri have their own lunches. BKG is pulling out his bento and opening it up, Inasa whistles at the spread.

"That looks very tasty!" His chopsticks are inching towards it.

"Hands to your fucking self baldy, this is my lunch."

Kiri: "oh come on! It looks like you've got plenty. We can even swap!" Kiri shows his own bento with

BKG glares, his bento is perfectly set up, 3× layers with one made up of just curry and rice with a few rolls that are decorated to look like his gauntlets. Another is filled with vegetables and small bits of meat cut up to look like explosions, and the last looks like a cake shaped like a heart.

Kiri: "Blasty did you make this?"

BKG: "The fuck you call me?"

Kiri: "You give everyone a nickname, so you should get one too!"

By that point most of the group had made it back to the table, all amazed at BKG's bento. Kaminari, who is either very bold or very stupid, takes a fork and spears at BKG's food to take a bite. BKG is just about to kill Kaminari ("And," the blond growls out even as Kirishima tries to hold him down, "it would be 100% justified") but is prevented by the intruder alarm going off. The students scramble but BKG cleans up his bento before he shuffles out at Iida's insistence. They talk about the event later in class.

Kami: "Bakubro that food was heavenly! Who made it!?"

BKG: "You ever touch my boyfriends food again I will fucking end you, you discount dedenne!"

Ashido: "WAIT BOYFRIEND!?" her voice is very, very loud and everyone turns to look at them. There's a light blush on BKG's cheeks.

"Shut up, yes I have a boyfriend and he's 100× better than you extras!" All the romantics are swooning - rough BKG has a sweet bf who makes him bento lunches and -

Jirou: "wait is that where you normally go for lunch, eat with him?"

BKG grumbles but nods and everyone coos again because that is so fucking soft. There isnt time to interrogate more because class begins again.

And then the next day is USJ. And the day after the announcement of the sports festival. The 1B and GenEd students crowding around their door are a surprise to everyone but BKG who makes his declaration. Most of the students rail at him but no one really notices a short, green haired student standing behind Shinsou as he makes his declaration, smiling and scribbling away in his notebook.

/Let's Rewind A Bit/ When they are 5 years old, they find out Deku is quirkless. Katsuki has a choice: he can follow the crowd and see Deku as worthless just due to his lack of quirk or he can treat him the same - a weak little crybaby who happens to be his best friend and the only person worth hanging out with.

What decides it for him is actually Auntie Inko.

Auntie Inko who can cook really well and brings the Bakugous food because his mom can't cook and less they say about his dad's culinary skills, the better.

Even at a tender age, Katsuki realizes being a dick to Deku means he might not be able to eat actual food while visiting a nerd so...

When people decide to bully Deku he defends him, he pulls him along on adventures and, unlike all the other extras, Deku rarely questions him and when he does they're good ones. Deku is the only kid their age worth knowing and if that sets them apart from everyone else, make everyone else sneer at them, so be it. He and Deku dont /need/ them. Between his awesome quirk and Deku's attention to detail they will take the motherfucking world by storm, his quirk is awesome enough for two people.

Things actually get better during middle school when they take home economics and find out that Deku is at least half as good as Aunt Inko at cooking which makes him leagues better than everyone else in class other than Katsuki himself (Katsuki can admit, only to himself and maybe Inko, that Deku is actually a better cook than him. Not by a lot but by enough that Katsuki will prefer a Midoriya cooked meal over his own. Deku, that nerd, still thinks Katsuki makes the best katsudon even when he complains about peppers)

The two of them are sitting on the roof of Orudera one day, eating Deku's oversized bento for two, when Katsuki suddenly says, "you should make me a bento every damn day, I won't ever be worried about never having the energy to be a hero."

There's a pregnant pause before Deku, breathless, asks, "Did Kacchan just propose to me?"

Katsuki looks sharply, surprised, but Deku is blushing and he's blushing and holy shit he kind of did???

"Only if you want, you damn nerd." He grumbles, looking away.

He feels a less calloused hand land softly on top of his own, squeezing gently. "I would be happy to, so long as Kacchan will be my hero forever."

There's more grumbles but Katsuki turns his hand over, squeezing back.

They start going out, quietly. It doesn't change much, they hold hands, they kiss while they're alone and Deku makes them lunches and sometimes breakfast and dinner and desserts, and sometimes they do more but it's behind closed doors and just for them. They don't care what other people say (they ignore the scribbled words on lockers and white flowers left on Deku's desk saying that he's better off dead) - they have goals now, to be together, to be the only ones out of their whole damn school to get into UA. Katsuki never says those hurtful words, never tosses the notebook out the window, and they head home together.

A bottle full of villain still falls and a teenager gets taken, but instead Katsuki and Izuku see it and help, Izuku directing Katsuki on where his attacks will do the most damage to buy their classmate a breath of air. All Might appears to save the day and they leave, never meeting their idol face 2 face

/Back to the Sports Festival/

With the best score for the entrance exam, Katsuki takes the stage to make the athlete's oath. He stares out towards the amassed students. "Make no mistake about it. I'm gonna take first place!" He smirks at the jeers from the other classes. "You'll all make great stepping stones for me and Deku." While most of the students are still booing the blond, 1A was murmuring amongst themselves. Deku? Was that the name of the mysterious boyfriend?

Before anyone could ask though, Midnight announced the first event: obstacle course race.

The race goes as canon: Izuku makes an explosive finish into first place, Todoroki and Katsuki behind him.

Katsuki is pissed, less because of his Deku's win and more because he lost to Todoroki. He's making his way to stomp on towards Izuku but Kirishima stops him, worried that he was going to attack the gen ed student. (Katsuki was gonna attack him but with his face, lips on lips).

For obvious reasons, the Calvary Fight goes differently because Inasa is there & Apyama doesnt make it - Izuku has the most points but he only really knows two people, Kacchan & Shinsou. Izuku sends his boyfriend a small smile as he makes a beeline towards his classmate. "Shinsou-kun!" The other was just about to brainwash a 1A student. "Please be my teammate!"

Shinsou stares at his classmate for a few moments. School had barely been in session for a month and ALREADY Shinsou knows the greenette is good for crazy af plans. "Okay what's the plan then?"

"You me and two others - you're the rider and in charge of confusing everyone with your quirk. We should probably get at least one other person with a long range quirk a-"

"10 million!" Hatsume Mei barrels into Izuku from behind. "You are teaming up with me and helping me show off my babies!" Hatsume isnt willing to take no for an answer and since Ojiro is already there, it's a very interesting four man team.

The 2nd event starts and so many teams go after Team Shinsou and it's only waylaid when Bakugou and Todoroki's teams start taking them out because they're easy pickings. Shinsou takes control of teams when he can and just leaves them in the middle of the field dazed when he can until they're bowled over by another team, normally Bakugou's. Shinsou and Ojiro worry but Izuku is positive that team BKG isnt going to go after them. Mei doesnt care because she gets to use some of her inventions to her heart's content.

TEAM Shinsou passed barely, as Team Todoroki tries to get their headband but time runs out.

Next round is Izu, Shinsou, Ojiro, Mei, Tetsu⁴, Juzo, Yosetsu, Ibara, Katsuki, Kiri, Mina, Sero, Todoroki, Momo, Iida, Kaminari, Inasa, Uraraka, Tokoyami and Monoma (his team doesnt pass but they had the next highest points so he squeaks in)

During the lunch break, Katsuki pulls his team (and Kaminari, and other members of 1a following behind) towards the gen ed side of the stadium. Kirishima can hear low murmurs from behind the door even as Katsuki opened it.

Ojiro was sitting on a blanket with his teammates, around a series of extra large bentos. The green haired 10mil point winner makes a delighted noise, scrambling to get up. "Kacchan!"

Katsuki takes the hug from the shorter boy with a soft smile Kirishima has never seen before, returning it with a small kiss to the riot of green curls.

"Congrats nerd," he says before letting him go. Then Katsuki turns and looks square at the 1A students who followed. "Since you dumb fucks are here, lemme introduce you to my Deku. Deku, these are the extras we are gonna destroy to get top spots this festival."
